You know you need plenty of regular, fresh content for your blog in order to keep your search-engine ranking high. But writing a new post every day — and writing an interesting post that has new information and that people want to read — can be a tough job.

Fortunately, there are a few easy ways to get regular content for your blog without writing it yourself. Here are a few ideas:

Buy PLR Articles

PLR articles — or “Private Label Rights” articles — are written by freelance writers and sold through content sites. You pay for an article, or a packet of articles, and you have the right to republish them as you see fit. You can put your own name on the articles, and you can use the articles to create an e-book to sell or to promote your blog.

Check the usage rights when  you buy your articles. Some have limits for use, and some need to be rewritten before they can be used.

Hire a Freelance Writer

Of course, if you want content that is unique and specific to your blog, you can hire a writer to create it for you. There are numerous Web sites designed to match freelance writers and those looking for content: odesk and elance are among the top sites. Craig’s list and other job sites are also great places to post ads looking for freelance writers.

Keep in mind that you get what you pay for: If you pay only $5 an article, you can’t expect quality content. Pay more and expect more in-depth, well-written articles from more experienced writers.

Allow Guest Posts

Accepting guest posts is a great way for you to get quality content — for free — and for writers to get exposure or to get a link back to their blog. Announce your policy for accepting guest posts on your blog, including the criteria for the posts you will accept. This can include the type of content, the word count, and other requirements such as photos or biographical information.

Guest posting is a popular way for bloggers to promote their work. You may be surprised how many requests you get to guest post for your blog once you announce your willingness to accept them.

Set Up a News Feed

You can automate much of the content of your blog through a variety of tools. One of the most popular ways to do so is to set up a news feed. Using an RSS feed, you can set your preferences for the types of articles you want to capture, and you can set it up to post directly to your blog, linking to the source of the article. Set your parameters to find articles of interest to your niche, and be sure you choose reputable sites for scanning.

Supplying your blog with regular content need not be a 24-hour-a-day job. If you can’t keep up with the pace of writing for your blog — or you just want a break every now and then — look into some of these sources for your content. You can get as much quality content as you need no matter how low or high your budget.
